Slaughter, Enos Bradsher

American baseball player (b. April 27, 1916, Roxboro, N.C. - d. Aug. 12, 2002, Durham, N.C.), had a lifetime .300 batting average and was a hero of the St. Louis Cardinals, for whom he played 13 of his 19 major league seasons.
